Labor Day

For Labor Day we decided to go up to Silver Lake for a little "bug catching" trip with my brothers and parents. Alex's biology class is working on a bug collection and he had to catch 10 Coleoptera, 6 Diptera, 4 Hymenoptera...whatever in the heck those are. Does any one else recall having to learn all about bugs? I sure don't! (Christine...maybe you can catch me up to speed now?)

These boy were loving it. Digging through dirt. Chasing after dragonflies.

Mark made his mark. No...that was not supposed to be a pun.

The sweet panoramic shot of Silver Lake. Sooo pretty!

After our little stroll around Silver lake we went to the Silver Fork Lodge for lunch. It's takes forever to get your food, but the view is beautiful and the food was pretty darn good, too.

Thanks mom and dad for a fun day at Silver Lake on Labor Day!

Anyway, we had a grand old time. Saw a lot of bug, enjoyed God's playground, and enjoyed that beautiful CRISP mountain air of Fall.

Cute hat! What a fun day!!

PS -- Haha - so funny about those awkward, bubbly shirts we both found at Rite-Aid. Maybe we should clue-in Rite-Aid that we're out of the 90s.

I can't believe I didn't see this post before! I am so glad that I did a little Michelle blog catching up! How fun that you went bug catching :) !!!

If your brother needs any help, let us know :)

Coleoptera are beetles, diptera are flies and hymenoptera are bees and wasps? Not sure on the last. Paul studies trichoptera (caddis flies), which are a family of diptera. hahaha bugs!

this post made me so happy, obviously.
